YIT renovated office premises in the heart of Helsinki to meet the LEED Platinum and A energy rating criteria, in addition to the tenant's strict environmental goals. The sustainability of premises is an increasingly important selection criterion for companies.

Located in the heart of Seinäjoki, the station area is currently under construction to become one of Finland's most spectacular and busiest hubs for public transport and people on the move. More than two million passengers pass through the station each year.

Seinäjoki railway station will return to its original location and the station area will become an integral part of the city centre. Sustainable choices based on the life-cycle concept underpin the visually interesting block structure designed by the architect.

YIT has signed a lease on locating Eezy Plc’s operations in the Maistraatinportti office building in the Länsi-Pasila district of Helsinki. The building will be fully renovated, including its facade. The current functions of Eezy’s head office will be relocated to the new modern premises of approximately 4,130 m2 in Maistraatinportti once the renovation is complete in September 2023.

Not long ago, all of the employees coming to the office in the morning was how a normal day began. That “old normal” no longer exists. According to YIT’s Ilkka Tomperi, even hybrid work may turn out to be only an intermediate phase in a trend that leads to the complete liberation of knowledge work. This will have a significant impact on management and leadership practices.

Construction legislation is changing, and low-carbon construction is given more priority. Buildings should be sustainable, low-carbon and adaptable. Material emissions can be minimised by saving the existing structures.
