Kupittaan kärki Partnership Project, Turku
Originally built in 1970´s, Lönnrotinkatu 11 is an office building located in the center of Helsinki.
This five-storey property in central Helsinki was renovated and expanded to add an entirely new sixth floor to the building. The comprehensive renovation project saw the building’s frame and identity retained, but everything else was rebuilt. The facade was refreshed with new aluminium cladding in the building’s original spirit.
The interior was modernised to meet today’s needs for business premises and the technical building systems, which were at the end of their life cycle, were replaced with modern systems that help reduce energy consumption. The property is furnished with state-of-the-art structures and materials as well as smart technical solutions, and it has been awarded LEED Platinum environmental certification, which is the highest level attainable in the LEED framework.
The renovation of this 3,800-square-metre office building was completed in 2016. The office premises are located on floors 2–6, with Lexia Attorneys Ltd as the anchor tenant. The flexibility of the premises was given a high priority in the design process, ensuring that the office space can be easily adapted to suit various needs. Customer-specific solutions were implemented in accordance with the tenants’ needs.
The ground floor retail premises were retained, with the restaurant Lönkka owned by CMB Restaurants Helsinki Oy operating on the premises. The property also offers private parking space for 40 cars on the premises, which is rare in central Helsinki.
